Podcast Apps and Players that DO NOT Support Private Audio

Many of mobile audio apps you might be familiar with are not traditional podcast apps and cannot play manually added podcast feeds. They usually only play audio that is streamed from their own servers. These apps include Stitcher, Tune-In, SoundCloud, iHeart, Spreaker, etc. They will not work with your Private Audio Subscription.

There are also a handful of traditional and hybrid podcasts apps that are not designed to support password protected podcast feeds or don’t support secure https connections. Certain authentication “tricks” can sometimes be used within the URL itself to make these apps work with passwords but it’s not recommended. Even worse, for some of these apps, those authentication workarounds are not secure and can easily expose your private feed’s username, password and content to everyone on the Internet.
